The history of Bulgaria is more than 3000 years long.

Bulgaria is an inheritor of different ancient civilizations – Thracian, Roman and Byzantine. The Bulgarian state exists more than 13 centuries now, on the Balkan Peninsula – a place where different tribes and nations have been meeting trough the years. The Slavs and the Proto-Bulgarians established the Bulgarian State in year 681. Bulgarians accept Christianity in 865. The invention of the Cyrillic Script  in the second half of the 9th century, when only Latin and Greek writing was existing is an extremely favorable factor for the cultural development of the state. The War of Liberation (the Russian-Turkish War) regained Bulgaria's freedom in 1878. In 1879, the first constitution of the state was accepted, which was one of the most democratic constitutions at its time worldwide. The first decade of the 20th century is a period of economical progress and development. Bulgarian goods and currency – “Golden Lev” have had high value on the European market. Bulgaria has had sustainable stable trade relations with Austria, Germany, France and England.

Bulgaria develops successfully and demonstrates economic stability. In 1997, the macroeconomic stability was assured by a fixed currency rate of the Bulgarian Lev to the German currency with by a contract with the ICF. Low inflation rates and the stable process of structural reform have contributed to the better business climate. Bulgaria constantly acquires significant number of investors. The diversity of nature, ancient history, authentic architecture and antique sites, together with the sunny beaches and attractive ski resorts, reserves, golf clubs and friendly manner hosts make Bulgaria a desired destination for tourists and investors.
The real estate market in Bulgaria is dynamic, developing and profitable. Prices are under the European level, but the expectations for accession in the Union lead to unlimited opportunities, which will lead to price increase in the near future. In 2003, an increase of the tourism inflow by 18% was marked in comparison with 2002, and brought 3,5 million incomes according to the Ministry of economy. For 2009, the expectations are for 6,5 million visitors. More than 250 million euro has been invested for the last 3 years at Sunny Beach – the most popular sea resort. Among its regular visitors are tourists and investors from the Scandinavian Countries, Germany and England.
